Marquette-Alger Great Start Collaborative

Great Start Collaborative Marquette-Alger Logo The Marquette-Alger Great Start Collaborative is a network of educators, agencies, early childhood professionals, community leaders, and parents invested in quality early childhood and family programming, services, and supports.

Our vision for our community is that all children are born healthy; developmentally on track; ready to succeed at the time of school entry; and reading proficiently by third grade.

The purpose of Great Start Collaboration Meetings is to ensure all work in the Collaborative is responsive and reflective of needs of children and families in our local communities. It is also to create the space to allow collaboration to happen.

Another way the GSC supports family development is through Playgroups and the Great Start Family Coalitions with various monthly family events such as parent cafes.

These materials were developed under a grant awarded by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE). Visit www.michigan.gov/mikidsmatter/community/gspc for more information!
