Earn a Diploma, Certificate & College Credits
The Marquette-Alger Technical Middle College (MATMC) is a public, tuition-free, early middle college program that enables students enrolled in a public high school in Marquette or Alger Counties to earn a high school diploma, a technical certificate, and a significant number of college credits from Northern Michigan University or Bay College.
MATMC targets students who have traditionally been underserved — including those who are less engaged, at risk of dropping out, economically disadvantaged, or first-generation college students — while remaining open to all qualified applicants.
This educational option is the result of extraordinary collaboration between local school districts, Marquette-Alger RESA, Northern Michigan University, Bay College, and local communities.
